Road tripp’in through God’s country & now in Calgary, AB

The 10hr drive from Vancouver – Banff was by far one of the most beautiful drives I have done in my lifetime! My road tripping compadres were Doug McGuigan & Jaco Ahlers. The trip was very entertaining to say the least with these 3 South Africans cruising through the Rockies.
The drive took 10hrs to Banff, we stopped over in this quaint town, had a good time & then finished the remaining 1:30 drive to Calgary this am.
We are now watching the conclusion of the US Open & will start our own preparations for our event tomorrow!

First week down 2events over…
So after a busy interesting week two events are now in the books…
#TheRoarStartsHere is the PGATour Canada’s slogan & something you will see a lot this season! Another thing you will see is: Who are ” The 5″ this referring to the Top 5 players making it to the Web.com Tour at seasons end.
The First event was the Times Colonist Island Savings Open and after rounds of 69,74 I missed the cut. Not the way I wanted to start the season, but I now know what to work on and I’ll continue to move forward & try my best!

After the first event, I then moved onto the Monday Regional Qualifier for the RBC Canadian Open, which was a great way to bounce back after the first event….
If there were 100 players or more, I would have got straight into the RNC Canadian Open by placing 1st, but as there were only 77 players this result advances me to the final Sectional Qualifier next month instead! Still a step in the right direction…:)

This is PGA Tour Canada!
So the time has come for the new season to begin. I arrived in Vancouver BC last night and this city rivals Cape Town for sure!
This is a little taste of where I am staying in Vancouver. Nice little sunday lunch on the deck over looking a private lake, pretty awesome!
Day 1 consisted of, Going to church in the morning, then the above pics tell the rest of the story: Top Left: Welcome to Canada Eh, Middle: New clubs, New bag, New season, Top Right: A little surfing behind the wake to wind the day down!
The first day of the PGA Tour Canada season officially starts tomorrow. I am taking a ferry to Victoria Island BC tomorrow morning, then I will register for the first event & play a practice round.

Sunshine Tour wrap up…
I have played 9events this season on the Sunshine Tour. It wasn’t my best start missing two of the Big Co-Sanctioned event cuts by 1shot. These events could have really changed my season completely but there is not point living in the past & I’ll be back for the 3 European Tour events at the end of the year!
My game is on the up…I have made 6 of my last 7 cuts and really looking forward to taking my game to the PGA Tour Canada Tour.

Zambia Sugar Open 2013
- I arrived in Zambia yesterday and its great to be back & staying with Andrew & Belinda Ross again!
- I played in the Pro-am this morning with the 2nd most powerful man in Zambia,Mr Alex Bwalya Chikwanda. He is the Minister of Finance & acting president when the president is out of the country. We had good fun and was a good start to the week.
- Tomorrow is another pro-am, all day, so I will just practice and prepare for the first round starting on thursday.
